DIY Facial Serum

Regardless of our age or skin type, we all need a gentle moisturizer to keep our skin hydrated and protected against the environment, and help prevent irritation. When we wash our face, we often strip our skin of the natural oils (sebum). By using a face serum made of natural oils blended with essential oils, we gently replenishing our skins natural oils.

A facial serum couldn’t be easier to make, choose the carrier oil that suits your skin type and the essential oils and blend.

What are the best carrier oils for your skin type?

Normal:  apricot kernel oil, jojoba, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil

Dry:  avocado oil, sweet almond oil, rosehip seed oil,

Acne:  jojoba, grapeseed oil, evening primrose

Sensitive:  jojoba, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, rosehip seed oil, evening primrose

Oily:  jojoba, grapeseed oil

Mature / Anti Aging:  rose hip seed oil, jojoba, sweet almond oil, Vitamin E

Best essential oils to use for different needs

Anti-aging: Rosehip seed oil, Vitamin E, Frankincense, Myrrh, Patchouli, Lavender.

Normal:  lavender, frankincense, geranium

Dry:  geranium, lavender, myrrh, patchouli, rose, frankincense, ylang ylang, cedarwood, clary sage, Roman chamomile, sandalwood, jasmine

Non-Cystic Acne:  lavender, patchouli, tea tree, Roman chamomile, lemongrass, rosemary

Sensitive:  helichrysum, lavender, rose, jasmine, geranium, frankincense, sandalwood

Oily:  frankincense, geranium, lavender, patchouli, tea tree, ylang-ylang, clary sage, Roman chamomile, peppermint, rosemary, sandalwood

Mature:  rose, frankincense, myrrh, helichrysum, sandalwood, geranium,  lavender, patchouli, rosemary, ylang-ylang

DIY FACE SERUM

Ingredients:

1. Add 10ml carrier oil to 15ml dropper glass bottle
2. Add 20 drops of essential oil (you can blend a variety of essential oils to suit your needs from the list above, the total drops should add up to 20)
3. Gently shake bottle to blend oils
4. Use 1/4 – 1/2 dropper full of serum nightly on clean face and neck to preserve, smooth, and protect your skin.

So far, my 15ml bottle has lasted for 2 months, and I absolutly Love It!

It’s not greasy and doesn’t make my skin feel clogged. My skin just drinks it up.  The texture and feel of my skin feels more firm and toned.
