Cetrimonium chloride is a cationic surfactant and conditioning agent commonly used in hair care products, acting as an anti-static, anti-frizz, and detangling agent, and also serving as an emulsifier.

It’s a quaternary ammonium salt that is soluble in water and is often used in concentrations ranging from 0.5% to 4%.

Cetrimonium chloride is also known as cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride.
