Polawax GP-200 is a self-emulsifying wax for oil-in-water emulsions, creating creams or lotions with an excellent texture and stability.

It is a mild ingredient that remains stable in the presence of metals ions and over a wide pH and temperature range.

In skincare products, Polawax GP-200 forms liquid crystals within the emulsion promoting ‘time release’ hydration and functions as a slow-release delivery mechanism for actives.

How to use:

It is a very simple to use, pretty much foolproof complete emulsifying wax. It works reliably at 20–25% of your oil phase.

Soothing Lavender Aloe Cream Facial Cleanser

Heated water phase A
10.1g | 20.2% distilled water
15g | 30% lavender hydrosol
10g | 20% aloe vera juice
2g | 4% Cocamidopropyl Betaine
7.5g | 15% vegetable glycerine
0.15g | 0.3% xanthan gum

Heated oil phase B
1.5g | 3% Polawax
2g | 4% cetearyl alcohol
1.5g | 3% fractionated coconut oil

Cool down phase
0.25g | 0.5% preservative

• Prepare a water bath of about 3cm of water to a bare simmer over medium-low heat in a wide pot or pan.
• Weigh the heated water phase A into a small glass beaker (make note of the entire weight)
• Weigh the heated oil phase B into a second glass beaker.
• Place both measuring cups in your prepared water bath and allow to melt.
• After about 20 plus minutes the oil part should be melted and the water part should be thoroughly dissolved.
• Remove the water bath from the heat and weigh the water phase. Add enough hot distilled water to the heated water phase to bring the weight back up to what it was before heating, and then pour the water part into the oil part. Blend with a spatula until combined
• Using an  immersion blender begin blending the cream cleanser, starting with short bursts to blend then  blend for about a minute.
• Leave to cool for 10 minutes then blend for another minute or two minutes. Repeat this blend-cool-blend cycle until the outside of the glass measuring cup is barely warm to the touch and the cream cleanser is thick and creamy.
• When the cleanser is below 40c, incorporate our cool down ingredients – the preservtive.
• Stir to thoroughly incorporate.
• Transfer to a pump-top bottle or a squeeze tube.
