Description
Benefits of African black soap:
- Antibacterial properties: One study showed that samples from black soap significantly inhibited the growth of bacteria, which helps treat skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions.
- Exfoliates skin: The ingredients in African black soap are naturally exfoliating, and help to clear dead skin which can block pores and cause irritations such as razor bumps.
- Acne-fighting: African black soap has been used in Ghana and Nigeria to help balance oily skin; its exfoliating elements clear pores, which helps to lessen and prevent acne and other skin blemishes.
- Moisturizes: The oils in black soap are exceptionally moisturizing, and infuse the skin with moisture, soothing the dry skin that can cause a variety of dermatological conditions.
- Lessens hyperpigmentation (dark spots): Shea butter helps protect skin from the sun, which in turn minimizes dark spots caused by sun damage.
- No parabens, phthalates or SLS
- No artificial colours, fragrances or preservatives

Warnings
Overuse on dry skin can cause a skin reaction
A word of caution: raw black soap might not be for everyone. It can be drying and irritating to sensitive skin and other skin types if you aren’t used to it. If you have oily skin, you might even experience some breakouts as the skin purges, especially if your skin is congested. It should eventually adjust and begin to retain more moisture. In the meantime, you definitely need to use a moisturizer after washing with black soap. Ultimately, this miracle product should help fade dark spots, clear acne, and brighten the skin.
Natural African Black soap liquid
What you will need.
- 100g African Black Soap flakes
- 700ml to 1 litre of previously boiled or distilled water
- 5ml Argan Oil (Optional)
- 5ml Olive Oil (Optional)
- 2 drops Rosemary oil (Optional)
- 2 drops tea tree oil (Optional)
- A jar big enough for all the ingredients.
Directions.
Put all the ingredients in the jar. The amount of water you will use depends on the concentration you want the soap to have. Let everything sit for 12 to 24 hours. You can stir the solution gently to increase the rate of dissolving of the solid soap. Stirring vigorously will cause the soap to form and that is not what we want as it may start to overflow. You can also cut the soap into smaller pieces before dissolving if you do not want to wait long. Using slightly warm water also helps. When the soap is completely liquid, transfer the solution to bottles.
